Vanderbilt Museum, Mansion and Planetarium

24-room Moroccan-style “Eagles Nest” mansion sits
on 43 acres overlooking Northport Harbor. The site features
Vanderbilt’s collections, marine and wildlife specimens,
a Planetarium with a 60-foot sky theater projected with 11,369
stars, and an observatory with a 16-inch, 860
power reflecting telescope. Fee. Open year-round, Tue.-Fri.

Northport Historical Society and Museum
251 Main Street. Changing exhibits fill a building initially
built in 1914 as the Northport Village Library through
a large grant from Andrew Carnegie. Admission by donation.
